About Forestry Office

Office Overview

The Forestry Office, under the Provincial Industries, Investments & Economic Development framework, drives sustainable management, conservation, and development of Madang Province's forest resources. It formulates and updates sector policies and regulatory frameworks in line with the National Forestry Act, oversees licensing and concession processes, and enforces compliance through monitoring and site inspections. The office champions community forestry and reforestation initiatives, promotes value addition in timber processing, and engages landowners, local governments, and industry partners to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship and social benefits.
