Office Overview

The Fisheries Office, under the Provincial Industries, Investments & Economic Development framework, champions the sustainable management, conservation, and development of Madang Province's aquatic resources. It formulates sector policies and regulatory guidelines, oversees licensing and compliance, and conducts resource assessments to ensure healthy fish stocks. The office supports community-based fisheries, promotes value-addition in fish products, and fosters partnerships with local-level governments, industry stakeholders, and research institutions to balance economic growth with ecological stewardship.
