Born in Madang Town, Hon. Ramsey Pariwa grew up understanding both the urban and rural dynamics of the province. His upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for Madang's diverse cultures and ecosystems.
He attended Tusbab Secondary School before earning a scholarship to study at the University of Papua New Guinea, where he graduated with honors in Public Administration. He later completed a Master's degree in Regional Development at an Australian university through the Australia Awards program.
Before entering politics, Governor Pariwa had an extensive career in public service, beginning as a district officer and rising through the ranks to become Provincial Administrator for 6 years.

Governor Pariwa is married to Dr. Margaret Pariwa, a respected pediatrician at Modilon Hospital. They have three children who are all pursuing higher education.
An avid sailor, Governor Pariwa enjoys spending time on the water and is a strong advocate for marine conservation. He is also a patron of the Madang Cultural Festival and supports local artists and performers.
